A song meant for Donald Crowhurst (1932-1969), sailor, misadventurer. Again, this was originally on my Star Wood brick Firmament album back in 2020, but I thought this deserved a re-visit- my voice has got better through Lockdown bootcamp, and I gave it the clean production I think it never properly got ;)
lyrics
Donald Crowhurst
On the ocean I floundered,
yet set adrift I evolved.
In my mind I journeyed.
Both boats tacked a similar course.
My foolishness was bundled –
hope stored fore, reality aft.
My desperation, tightly packed.
My world unwrapped.
If I could sail home, and brave the storm,
if I sail home forgive me.
If I could sail home, and brave the storm,
if I sail home forgive me.
For the things I've done,
I now have ballast.
For the things I thought I'd done,
an equilibrium of sorts.
If I could sail home, and brave the storm,
if I sail home forgive me.
If I could sail home, and brave the storm,
if I sail home forgive me.

Fantastic to finally get your Exsolve, Caldera and Cartographer CD's to play on my really nice home audio system. Super powerful stuff. There is magic in your musical compositions. I love them on top of your 'From The Sea' as the only CD I have been able to listen properly for the last 12 years.. Need more CD access in Australia so I can also play all your music in the car. Excellent stuff. Cernunnos
