On The Other Side Of The River On the other side of the river, the farthest bank from where we are. Circled in our palm, see the future, everyone may share what we possess. In Užupis. In Užupis. Don't fight. Don't win. Don't surrender. Circled in our palm, our unimportance. Circle in a palm, a right to exist. Circled in our palm, see the future. Everyone may share what we possess. In Užupis. In Užupis.

Cult Of The Fallen 2015 Blazon our field of gules, losers fell as fruit from the ash. Proper in red, we rampant perennial. All in the blood, all in line. Our cult of the fallen will triumph over time. Blazon our dexterous arm, gashed with chevron emblem flesh. Self-azure, our cloth a rag of colts. All in the blood, all in line. Our cult of the fallen will triumph over time.

Knudlustysummer 2015 Its been said as dimwits go, Knud rules. In villages across this land none ranked so high. The giggling farm girls twirl their clodded curls for him and knot their pollen hair for him to bring them flowers. “Go get Sheep’s Bit and Sticky Mouse Ear”, but he saw only Lady’s Mantle, Maiden Pink. “Then go for Everlasting-Pea” (they said with glee) but he returned with Perennial Honesty. “Then Buck’s Horn, big Knud, and Toothed Medick” they winked, but the Bush Vetch and Agrimony made him sick. Knud would kiss them, Knud would squeeze them. Raise a beast above his head to please them. Knud would kiss them, Knud would squeeze them. Raise a beast above his head just to please them. But they scattered on seeing him return, leaving him Bogbean, Sow-Wort and Woodgreen in hand.

about

My latest Sieben release is a digital EP entitled “Lietuva”, the old name for Lithuania. The two main tracks have both taken inspiration from there. The first, Black Moon Rise Again, was written to celebrate the lovely Menuo Juodaragis Festival. The second, Užupis, a district of Vilnius, draws inspiration from the constitution, motto, flag, and mainly the aesthetic of this self-proclaimed (Art) State.

Both tracks are lengthy, at ten minutes each. I decided to dispense with the notion and restriction of 'pop song' length. Why tie myself to that? I wanted to give time for the 'top lines', the melodies and layered vocals to wash over each other, each new wave looping and dissolving the previous. Matt Howden, May 2015
